The only bowl left is the Super one this Sunday in New Orleans. After that, the entire order for the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft will be set. Then it is all systems go for the ultimate job interview known as the NFL Scouting Combine, which takes place from Feb. 24 to March 3 in Indianapolis.
Before we get into the mock drafts, here is a look at the current draft order:
Below are the latest projections by draft analysts for the Giants at No. 3:
Daniel Jeremiah, NFL Media
Pick:Cam Ward, QB, Miami
Analysis:"The Giants are desperate for a quarterback. Ward's strong arm and playmaking ability would be a great fit."
Mel Kiper Jr., ESPN
Pick:Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Analysis:"Sanders is super accurate, completing 74% of his throws this season. He could step in right away and lift the entire offense, including standout 2024 first-rounder Malik Nabers."
Dane Brugler, The Athletic
Pick:Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado
Analysis:"If the Giants are unable to move up for Ward, would they like Shedeur Sanders enough to draft him at No. 3? In this scenario, they don't and instead opt for arguably the best player in the draft. Hunter would give New York an upgrade at corner and he'd be a fun weapon for Brian Daboll to mix into the offense for the Giants' TBD quarterback."
Eric Edholm, NFL.com
Pick:Cam Ward, QB, MIami
Analysis:"I still need more time to percolate on whether Ward could be the Year 1 savior, la Jayden Daniels, but the Giants probably feel compelled to pull the trigger here if they don't go the veteran-QB route."
Bucky Brooks, NFL.com
Pick:Cam Ward, QB, Miami
Analysis:"The selection of this alpha-dog quarterback gives the Giants the competitive leader needed to bounce back from a couple of disappointing seasons."
Matt Miller, ESPN
Pick:Cam Ward, QB, Miami
Analysis:"Ward has a big-time arm, excels at finding passing windows and can create with his feet. He led the FBS with 39 touchdown passes in 2024 and was second in QBR (88.7)."
Jordan Reid, ESPN
Pick:Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado
Analysis:"Hunter is capable of making impact plays on both sides of the ball, as he caught 96 passes for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns on offense while picking off four passes on defense. Hunter could give the Giants another receiving threat opposite Malik Nabers or help at corner ... or maybe both."
Danny Kelly, The Ringer
Pick:Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Analysis:"It's a new era in New York. The Giants get their man, selecting a polished, steely passer in Sanders, who in many ways is the opposite of Daniel Jonesparticularly when it comes to protecting the football. The Colorado star has a relatively soft landing in New York thanks to the presence of field-tilting alpha receiver Malik Nabers."
Lance Zierlein, NFL.com
Pick:Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
Analysis:"Two-way talent in the Big Apple! I like it! The Giants had the second-fewest interceptions in the league in 2024 (five), but the ballhawking Hunter can help them do a better job of taking the ball away -- and score some touchdowns as a part-time receiver."
Mason Cameron, Pro Football Focus
Pick:Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Analysis:"Sanders has a strong foundation as a passer, with fundamentally sound throwing mechanics that give him the tools to develop at the next level. However, his most impressive trait may be his ability to limit mistakes. Since moving to the FBS, he has produced a negatively graded throw on just 10.9% of his dropbacks, a 97th-percentile mark."
Nick Baumgardner, The Athletic
Pick:Cam Ward, QB, Miami
Analysis:"I'm still torn between Ward and Sanders for QB1, and there are days it feels like Sanders is more ready right now to lead a successful offense. But, long-term, Ward who improved every day of his lengthy college career could have the higher ceiling."
Nick Baumgardner, The Athletic
Pick:Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Analysis:"Sanders in New York feels like a match made in media heaven. Physically, Ward might have more tools (which is why I've got him slightly higher here), but don't be shocked if Sanders who, unlike Ward, had to get used to playing with so-so talent in college is more ready to start than some believe."
Trevor Sikkema, Pro Football Focus
Pick:Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Analysis:"Truth be told, I am not at all convinced a quarterback will be drafted in the top five this year. But until free agency proves otherwise, the Giants are so desperate for a quarterback that it would feel disingenuous not to award them one here. Sanders recorded an 83.0 PFF passing grade in all four college seasons he played in. Over the past two years, he was excellent at post-snap reads and taking care of the football. Sanders doesn't have the strongest arm, but he plays a clean brand of quarterback which some teams will gravitate toward."
Ryan Wilson, CBS Sports
Pick:Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Analysis:"Good luck finding someone tougher than Sanders. He'll stand in the pocket and take hit (after hit after hit) to make a play downfield. He's not the best athlete and doesn't have the arm strength of Cam Ward, but he does a lot of things really well. Would like to see him play on time more consistently, but part of that has to do with Colorado's inconsistent offensive line."
Rob Rang, FOX Sports
Pick:Cam Ward, QB, Miami
Analysis:"Ward isn't as polished as his Heisman highlights suggest but his quick release and flair for the dramatic could be big hits on Broadway."
Kyle Crabbs, The 33rd Team
Pick:Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Analysis:"If this feels like the worst kept secret in sports, it is because it probably is. The Giants are in the quarterback market."
Nate Tice, Yahoo Sports
Pick:Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
Analysis:"After seeing QBs get picked off in front of them, the Giants instead veer toward star power. Hunter is an excellent athlete and has a rare feel for the cornerback position. With Malik Nabers already showing off his star potential at receiver, there's no need to overwhelm Hunter as a two-way player right away."
Mike Renner, CBS Sports
Pick:Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
Analysis:"The Giants could use both a wide receiver and a corner, so why not take the most uniquely qualified prospect in NFL history to play both. Travis Hunter's tape comes with a constant asterisk that he hasn't come off the field the entire game, and it's scary to think how he'll perform with some rest."
Connor Rogers, NBC Sports
Pick:Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Analysis:"Unless Penn State's Drew Allar ends up declaring, Ward and Sanders are the only two quarterbacks I see going in the first round."
Josh Edwards, CBS Sports
Pick:Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Analysis:"The Giants are desperate for a quarterback addition. They probably would take whichever option was left over. In this case, Shedeur Sanders returns to the Big Apple where he attended the Heisman Trophy ceremony. Sanders is a prospect who has dealt with pressure his whole life and has experience captaining a rebuild."
Daniel Harms, The Draft Network
Pick:Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
Analysis:"It doesn't matter which side of the ball he plays, but pairing him with Malik Nabers sounds like a good start."
Chris Trapasso, CBS Sports
Pick:Jalen Milroe, QB, Alabama
Analysis:"Another high-upside passer for Brian Daboll."
Vinnie Iyer, The Sporting News
Pick:Cam Ward, QB, Miami
Analysis:"The Giants will consider Sanders should he still be available, but because of his strong arm and mobility, Ward might be the better fit in Brian Daboll's offense as another potential Josh Allen, whom he had when offensive coordinating for the Bills. It's difficult to envision New York going in a different positional direction."
Max Chadwick, Pro Football Focus
Pick:Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Analysis:"His 49 big-time throws since 2023 tied for fifth, and his 1.6% turnover-worthy play rate in that span ranked second to only Bo Nix. Sanders also was recently seen playing catch with Giants star receiver Malik Nabers in the streets of New York."
Keith Sanchez, The Draft Network
Pick:Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Analysis:"I believe the front office sees a lot of parallels between Eli Manning and Sanders, and the Giants may be attempting to recreate that magic."
